If send/receive projects is indeed connecting to the Internet server but you do not see a project you have been added to, there are several possible things to check out:
1) If the project has already published some material which exists as a resource, and you have that resource on your computer, you need to delete the resource from your computer, then you can see the project in your send/receive projects list.
If you do want to have the resource as well as the active project, you can install the resource again. Paratext does support having a project and a resource with the same name on the same computer, but you have to get the project first, then the resource.
2) Similarly, if you have an earlier version of the project on your computer that was copied there from a file backup or some other file copying method, you need to delete this project to receive the shared version.
3) If none of the two above reasons apply, check for:
- you went to "send/receive projects" on the main menu. The send/receive button on the toolbar repeats the last send/receive operation you did with projects you have, it does not look for new projects.
- you went to "send/receive projects" on the main menu and the destination is indeed "internet". If the last time you did a send/receive was to a USB drive or network folder, that choice is still present when you open the dialog again.
- you looked at your entire list of available projects. A project you do not have on your computer will not appear in alphabetical order with the projects you do have, but after all the projects you do have.
- shut down Paratext and look in the "Temp Files" subfolder of your Paratext project folder (usually "c:\My Paratext 9 Projects"). Paratext is supposed to delete any temp files it created in this folder, but sometimes it does not and occasionally such files interfere with receiving a new project. If you see something there, delete it then try send/receive projects again.
