It looks like you have a different versification there, where the English 1:17 is numbered 2:1.

To add to what JohnBrownie wrote, if your project versification is set to "English" Paratext will expect 17 verses in Jonah 1 and 10 in Jonah 2.

If you find you need to set up a custom versification, that is possible. Look in the help search for "versification".

Compare your text with other published Bibles to ensure that you in fact have the correct number of verses for these two chapters.

If your text is correct and assuming that all of the other verses in the OT are correct then it is possible to fix this issue by adjusting a custom.vrs file. (It might be as JohnBrownie suggested that you simply need to change your versification in the Project settings to be a different choice).

Close Paratext

Navigate to the folder with the project

If there is already a file called custom.vrs you can open in in Notepad or other text editor. If the custom.vrs file does not exist you can create it in Notepad.

Add the following:

JON 1:16 2:11

This has the impact of telling Paratext that chapter 1 should only have 16 verses and chapter 2 should have 11.
