Why have chapters and chapter labels in a glossary?

PTXPrint release notes for 3.0.10 contain this entry: "Fix filtering of glossaries with chapters and chapter labels". I would like to hear from anybody who is doing a glossary that has chapters. How and why, and what are you filtering for?

From what I understand, "filtering the glossaries" is so that you only include words that actually appear as \w words\w* in the text being published. So if you're printing LUK and ACTS, you don't end up with a massive (e.g. whole NT) Glossary with terms that don't occur in those 2 books.

Perhaps Chapter Labels are used to create alphabetical section headers in the glossary.

I'm doing this. Our glossary looks roughly like this:

\cl A
\p
\v 1 O~\k Aron\k*: O phral ....
...
\c 2
\cl B
etc.
This means that  if you put a note in the glossary, paratext doesn't duplicate the entire glossary into the note. (maybe that bug has been fixed, I don't know), (optionally) gives glossary headings, and so on.
(Note that the O~ is because names in the language need an article before them, much like Koine Greek. Paratext unhelpfully adds a space after the tilde, but if there's a tilde, it doesn't split it off as if it were part of the preceding definition when it decides to sort the glossary. Spaces after tildes are easy to fix in the changes file.

Oh, if paratext doesn't like the idea of chapters in the glossary, you might need to create a custom versification for it.
Keeping a single verse per entry is an utter pain. If doing it again, I'd probably make some guesses and allow a few keywords per verse.

Thanks for this answer. We want Paratext to alphabetize our GLO automatically, so we have not used chapters. We need to harmonize GLO entries across multiple languages, so we created a system to do that even though all the glossaries are in alphabetical order in each language and therefore not in the same order across languages. We did this using verse numbers so every project's GLO entry for "cornerstone" is the same verse number.
