Russian Cyrillic Cursive

A translation I've working with has this "/toc2 Мафтей". When it is rendered in Formatted and Standard views the text for "т" and "й". It looks like it's changing to the cursive equivalents.
The usfm.sty in PrintDraft has /Italic defined for this marker. Is this /Italic setting causing this behavior?

Yes, the italic version of the font is different for these characters. You can verify this by switching the view to Unformatted (which shows all the text in Regular).

I think it's fairly normal for Cyrillic fonts to encode "cursive" using the "italic" font setting. I just tested on my system and that's certainly true.

If you don't want that, you can create or edit a custom.sty document in your project folder (under \My Paratext 9 Projects\XYZ\) and add:

\Marker it
\Regular
