We have got one machine in a project where we have a massive amount of ressources installed, so even on bad-internet-days, we can potentially look up many things. No problem, nice to have. Just the list is long and one user cannot easily memorize all we have got there.
Now it happened yesterday that I took some time and wanted to see and try some of those amazing new Enhanced Ressources. Went to the download list and “toggled” some ressources from classic to enhanced by deleting the old and downloading/installing the new.
I made this mistake, without noticing: One ressource was the reference or model for one of the interlinear setups. Let us say RSV52. When I deleted the classic, I did not realize that PT (or its interlinear module) would consider this change “a loss of model”, but I should have known better, because computers are like that: different tag — different beast; even if the same goodness (and more) is included.
This has later in the day caused a storm of puzzling “changed” tags in the project send/receive dialog. Took me a while to realize that the fact of temporarily losing the model-ressource meant to PT that the interlinear projects were all “changed” even though I had already undone my little mistake.
So I am just sharing this in case some other user might find it interesting. And as note to self.
A nice feature would be a hint or warning from PT when a user is trying to delete a ressource that is “involved/needed/engaged” somehow; for example as a model for an interlinear configuration.
No data or work was lost and this feature-idea is less important than some other things I have submitted about real problems. I can mark this as my own lack of concentration (as I was drooling to get my hands on some new “enhanced toys”).
hth and greetings
