Just to clarify for others who might find themselves in this situation. If you have Paratext 7 files on your computer (usually in My Paratext Projects) there are a couple of ways to get these into Paratext 8/9.
- If you have Paratext 8 installed then you can use the migration tools (you can see these when you try to open the project). This process should work even if Paratext 7 is not currently installed.
- Paratext 9 no longer has these tools, but you can use the Backup/Restore process to migrate the project to Paratext 9. When you use this option, but sure to check the box to include settings when you backup. And be sure to include settings when you restore the project.
- If you no longer have Paratext 7 installed on the computer (to be able to make a backup of the project) then you can also create a new project in Paratext 9 and import the data from the Paratext 7 folders. NOTE that in this process you have to add your settings manually.
With any of the processes you would need to verify registration information and user settings if that is needed in PT8/9.
