I have a project that has come to me that has .SFC files. I would like to change them to .SFM files.

  1. What is the difference between the two file types (if any)?
  2. What considerations should I be aware of before making the switch?
  3. What is the best method for updating the file extension? (Could I just change the file name and be done with it?)

I've never heard of .SFC files, but .SFM are plain text files that you can open in any text editor. Have you tried to look at the content of the .SFC files that way?
