My colleague is running the latest version of Paratext 9.5 also but cannot find the userMenu.txt file to add new regular expressions. He can access a default set of expressions in the User tab of RegEx Pal.

It should be in the root of the My Paratext 8 Projects folder (or whatever name of that folder is being used on his machine).

Having said that, RegEx Pal has menu items to let you add and edit the User Menu (under Tools). That would be the more natural place to add new expressions.
