A little earlier I changed the Registration Information for a user:

The username was: Samuel Davis
(this is a pseudonym)
I changed the email address from what it currently was (an address the user hadn’t used for a number of years) to a kastanet.org address.

The result of this appears to be that a new user was created in the PT Registry: the username was this user’s real name, not the pseudonym. This seems very strange!

I think that this newly-created user needs to be removed.

Notes:

  • I can supply the user’s real name in a private message. The kastanet.org address is based on that name: <first name>_<last name>@kastanet.org .
  • The PT Registry said: “16 minutes ago\<username> was created by server” – 08:04h UTC, about the time I OKed the change in Registration Information. The email address is the kastanet address.
  • The user Samuel Davis still shows in the Registry, but with a blank email address. The email address field was blank before what I did in PT, despite the fact that the PT Registration Information did include an email address. This is also strange.
