I would expect to be able to do this by making a lexical entry for the null morpheme on the target side, leaving its Lexeme Form blank, and ensuring its gloss matches the gloss on the source side. Instead this technique results in the tag being appended to the successfully synthesized part of the output.

Oops. Instead of a blank Lexeme Form, I needed to use ∅.

You need to have a symbol in the lexeme form field. Not just a blank field. You can use ^0 or ∅, or if you are using the XAmple parser just 0.
