I have a strange error happening (just after selecting the following in the Complex Forms section of the settings):

In the source text I have what could be analyzed as a phrasal verb (and has an entry in the lexicon as such), but is not linked in the analyzed text:

When I run it through the drafting modules, I get an error here:

Using the live rule tester, it shows these words as grouped together, which they shouldn't be in this instance. Hence the error. Why are the words grouped together in FLExTrans, if they aren't grouped in the source text?

Thanks for your question. Phrasal verbs can be a little confusing. There is some documentation about Phrasal verbs here: FLExTrans User Documentation

We probably need to expand the documentation to explain some of the following things.

Since FLEx is not good at dealing with complex phrases like phrasal verbs, (and by complex I mean where there is morphology in between the components; simple uninflected phrases work ok) we have a method of working with these phrases in FLExTrans. The method is that you follow the above documentation to set up the phrase and then in your text you don't join the components. FLExTrans will recognize the two words occurring in a text in the right sequence and pick that up as a phrasal verb. That is what is happening in your case, matoltr. Even though you haven't specifically linked the phrasal verb, FLExTrans will put the words together for translation purposes. If you don't want this happening in this case, you could change the Complex Form Type of the phrasal verb in the lexicon to a different type so that FLExTrans ignores it (FLExTrans only pays attention to the complex form types you define in the FLExTrans settings). You could do other things to change the components, but the former suggestion might be better.
