MacBook Pro paratext

Question

Hi there,
What is the best setup for paratext on a Mac? I will be purchasing a new device. Should I buy an intel device or is it possible to run paratext on an M1 machine without too much trouble?

Greetings from the bleeding edge! I normally work in Linux, but I have a Mac Mini with an M1 processor that I can also use. Hi there,
Reading the rest of the thread you linked to gives me pause as to whether I would be able to get it going. Others seem to be having trouble with it on the M1 machines. Is it possible with full versions of windows 11 or 10? I have already purchased a windows 10 pro that would be great to use so I don’t have to re-purchase the OS. Any thoughts?

I’ve been using Paratext on my M1 MacBook Air via Parallels, and it is smoothly with no problems.

Interesting that you ask. It has run very fast for months until last week, when I started noticing some lag. I don’t know yet if that was due to other programs or if that will continue.

Still trying to understand this for the “general public”.

Are you an “Insider Preview” version of Windows 11? anon958860, from the install date and the OS build, it appears that you might be.

If so, do you have any knowledge if that will transition into a “normal” release of Windows 11 that would work normally on M1 Macs in the future?
