A back translation project was set up some time ago in v7 using KBT / kwaBT naming It is used as the the back translation of Kwangwa / siKwangwa project naming.

When KBT was set up, it was wrongly set up based upon ‘NIV84…’ instead of ‘Kwanqwa’ (see attached document). Not the project shows as ‘Not registered’ in the list of available project in the Send/Receive dialog and it is always unchecked (see attached).

Now that I have begun working with KBT in Paratext 9, I see that the Project Properties show the ‘Based On’ field as empty and disabled (see attached).

Since the project is unregistered, it is not possible to edit the registration information

If it wasn’t set up correctly, I assume it wouldn’t have been used much (at all?). Can you just delete the project and start over?

Back translation projects inherit their registrations from their base project. That’s the reason why you can’t register them directly.

@anon392948 It seems that you did not attach a screenshot.

I recently encountered a bug where I could not update the “Based on” field in Paratext 9, but I could in Paratext 8.0. I wonder if you might be encountering the same bug.

Are you able to try the same process in Paratext 8? See https://paratext.org/download/#previous if you need to download Paratext 8 (and the latest patch) to try it.
