Last week, a user was unable to run Paratext 7.5 after installing it on a Windows 10 machine.
We found that the machine had a newer version of “Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable” package than is included in the Paratext 7.5 installer. However, this installed version was not complete so it was causing Paratext to get an error - message will say that the “xul DLL could not be loaded”.
To fix the problem, we uninstalled the C++ package and then ran the “vcredist_x86.exe” program in the Paratext 7 program folder to install the version included with the Paratext installer.
If you need the latest version of this package, you can get it here.
