Last week, a user was unable to run Paratext 7.5 after installing it on a Windows 10 machine.

We found that the machine had a newer version of “Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable” package than is included in the Paratext 7.5 installer. However, this installed version was not complete so it was causing Paratext to get an error - message will say that the “xul DLL could not be loaded”.

To fix the problem, we uninstalled the C++ package and then ran the “vcredist_x86.exe” program in the Paratext 7 program folder to install the version included with the Paratext installer.

If you need the latest version of this package, you can get it here.

Just to clarify, does Paratext also work with the “latest version” that you give the link to, or do we need to install the version included with Paratext?

Paratext will work with the latest version if it is installed correctly.

I have the latest version on my machine I use for development.
