In helping a user with the Biblical Terms tool we came upon several instances where a verse is listed in the list of verses with the Biblical term present, but the list does not show the text. In addition, even if that verse has an approved local language term for the Biblical term, we cannot get the box to display the green checkmark.

This screencapture shows what we are seeing. Please note that the MRK 12:6 example showed the text, but it was not captured in the screencapture process.

I saw this some time ago when the \id lines had been edited. They are supposed to only have the book code and the name of the project matching the name found in Project properties. You can see what it should be for a project by creating a new book.

Thank you all for replying. I’ll see the user on Thursday and check for versification issues.

Could it be that the verse in question is part of a verse range (“Mark 9:6-7”) so the Biblical terms tool cannot locate Mark 9:7 as such?

When I tried this in a test project, Paratext found and displayed Mark 9:6-7 in the Biblical terms tool for a Mark 9:7 reference.

Paulus+Kieviet might be on the right track, though. If you do basic checks for chapter/verses and markers, is there a problem in Mark 9?

MSEAIT/LT,

When there is a red x in the box it indicates that the verse is missing. Could be a verse error or an error with the versification.
