A user complained that after his upgrade to Windows 10, the rendering of some characters in Paratext 7.4 did not look right. Specifically, when an “i” had a diacritic over it, the display showed the diacritic overlapping with the dot over the “i”, when before the upgrade, the sequence displayed as a diacritic over an i without a dot.

When I suggested that he try the alternative rendering engine, that fixed the problem.

The problem also appears in 7.5, if the alternative rendering engine is turned off.

I’m a little concerned about this. Even though the alternate rendering
engine fixes the issue there may be other applications where it is not
fixed.

Can you tell me what font is being used? Can you send me offlist a
sample text where the problem is displayed? I’d like to test the string.

Having the Alternate Rendering Engine turned on is now the default since 7.5 so it shouldn’t affect too many people. :worried:
