I need to mark up a passage with glossary terms using \wj …\wj* Words of Jesus (red letter) markup.

I am currently using embedded within embedded markup. For simple glossary terms I have marked in this way:

For glossary terms with a citation form, this way:

I am wondering if anyone knows what is best practice in this situation.

It should be sufficient to simply use the \+w…\+w*

\wj*

The plus sign indicates that it is nested so it keeps the format of the \wj.

Thanks, I realize now that I had styled \w to display the glossary terms as a purple color. I thought I needed to make that red, but as you say, that is unnecessary.
