Back from holiday. Today first work in PT. Wordlist looks wrong, should display the project entries in the project font (Andika) but uses some ugly serif font. Opened and closed several times, tried the ususal suspects, but no joy so far.

Edit: Just to be clear: All other places in my PT look as expected: They are using the regular project font (Andika) as expected. So hopefully this means that the font itself is not missing nor corrupted.

I looked all over, I never had the wordlist use a different font from the main windows and from the biblical keyterms window. Could not find any special configuration-set for wordlist-font.

Then I did an update to version 9.3.103.10 today, but that did not fix it.

Your input is welcome before I would file a bug report. I hope it is a (new) feature.

I have just done send-receive. And then tried the feature “Paratext reset”. It worked, I have not seen anything frighening or too drastic.

Had to reconfigure some stuff of course, like zoom-settings and display options for glosses (my Hebrew is a little rusty - or what do you call the stage before iron-ore gets turned into steel?).

I have to report, sadly, that my problem is just the same: wordlist does still show the ugly sans-serif font, like all morning.

I need to be more precise: All three wordlist-columns (Word, Hyphenation and Morphology) are looking good, and are using the project font (Andika).

It is the panel below, with all the “occurrences” of the selected word, that the wrong font is being used. So maybe I worded my question wrong? Is the lower panel in the wordlist something with its own settings? Like a lookup-tool or a preview-display-tool that can be configured in some location that I have missed so far?

I do not even recognize this font showing the scripture examples, so I am almost positive that I never opted for this one anywhere in any settings-panel. Looks flimsier than Charis SIL. And the references to the left, like GEN 14:1-2, are using some brutal sans in bold, like Helvetica on steroids and look oversized and hovering above the base line.

If no other ideas show up today, I will report this via the inbuilt tool. Feels creepy. If a setting jumped here where I can see it, other details might also be affected.

One thing to try when Paratext doesn’t appear to be working correctly is a Paratext reset. You can learn about how to do a reset at:

If this still does not fix the issue then use the Help > Give feedback to report the issue.

I just remember, that this morning some other “look and feel” in Paratext seemed wrong. Like it had forgotten certain preferences and arrangements of windows etc. during my holiday. Maybe it could be due to a Windows update or some other “event” behind by back.

All the “formal” stuff seems to be complete, for example the work-layouts that I had saved under a name are still available.

I will read up on a regular “reset” as suggested by @anon848905 (thank you anon848905) and will report here either way.

More input: I had a look on another computer in the same project:

They are using the same version of PT, see above, and also Win 10.

The problem in the wordlist is the same: the columns above show the project-font correctly. The panel below show the scripture examples in some ugly unwanted font.

So possibly this happened during our holiday, that some cosmic ray has flipped a bit on one of the hdds involved.

But now we know that this is a “setting” which can be shared via the send-receive technology. We did several send-receive rounds today because of lots of editing.

So this feature is possibly hidden from user-access but is still some proper “setting” and not just some random bit in the program code. Right?

This issue has been reported. I have not seen any resolution yet.

Thank you anon848905, this is good to know. So do you suggest I report it too? As a confirmation. Should I reference an existing bug number?

It was worrying, while I did not know whether one of our hdds might have gone bad in storage. If it is a known problem, I can relax and wait. It does not feel like it can corrupt data, it just gets to my emotions for being ugly.

Sometimes additional reports help to get the attention of the UX team.

Yes, thank you, will report. This is not about pushing the team, as this one is hopefully not hindering work or hurting data.

I know from other projects that developers like to have confirmation for bugs and more so if it can be reproduced. So maybe we can even help identify the cause.

Just to have it all documented together:

I did report just now and have gotten issue number PTXS-40165. I did mention the other reference to help the team.

Thanks, anon848905 and anon334662. I hadn’t seen this case. It is now “groomed” and it has been brought to the attention of the product owner.
