How can I add an existing project, as used to be possible with previous versions of Paratext? Many years ago, before the addition of the Consultant Notes feature, for my own notes to myself I used to just create a new project. I still have these notes projects, not attached to any Translation Project, just my own personal notes, and I’d like to be able to access them, but I can’t see in v9.3 how to Add an existing project. I’m not looking for a resource or for a registered translation project, just to add an old project which is on my own computer.
Thanks
Willie

So, presumably this is a Paratext 7 project that contained notes. There are a couple of options:

  1. If you still have PT7 installed on the computer you can make a backup of the project. This backup can then be restored in PT9.
  2. You can create a project and import the data files.

Hi anon848905, thanks for the speedy reply.

  1. This is a Paratext project which contains only my notes. A blank project I created many years ago, with all the book, chapter and verse markers, so that I could put notes alongside any verse. This was pre consultant notes feature.

  2. So, it’s already a project. How do I import it into v9.3? I’ve been using Paratext since about 1997 and have set it up for many people over the years. But I can’t see how to do this simple task in 9.3.

If the project was in Paratext 7 or earlier, you could create a new project in 9.3 and then import the book files from the existing project with Import books.

If you had the project in Paratext 8, and you chose a different project folder when you installed 9.3, you can move the project folder from your Paratext 8 projects to your Paratext 9.3 projects folder, then restart Paratext 9.3 and it should see it.

Please note that I’m not seeking to create a new Notes project. I know how to do that. I just want to have access to my old biblical notes alongside the relevant verses.
