What is the process by which the Managing Organisation or Rightsholder for a project can be changed? We are in the process of transitioning the project to new leadership, and assigning the rights of the project to a new mission. From the standpoint of the Paratext project, will it be possible to keep the project mostly as is, and simply change the Managing Organisation?

I just tested and yes it is working for me to add another organization to the Managing Organisations field.
I think if you have the option to edit that field (not just view it) you could modify this information. At least a Registration Reviewer role.

About the back-translation, a back-translation project does not have its own record but inherits the record of the base translation project (just like a daughter or auxiliary project). So, if you need to modify the Managing Organisations field you should do it for the base translation project.

Thank you for your suggestions. I don’t have a Registration Reviewer role and maybe it is for that reason that I was not able to modify the Managing Organisation field without help.

I believe you need to do this in the Paratext Registry.

On the Basic tab, there is a Managing Organization field where the Administrator should be able to select another, or an additional organization.

The Project Administrator should be able to change the Managing Organization (Rightsholder) on the Publishing tab of the project’s record in the Paratext Registry, Rightsholder field. If this project has been submitted to the Digital Bible Library, then the change will need to be made by your DBL curator in the DBL.

I am Administrator for the project. I have tried going to the Basic tab in Paratext Registry, but there is only one organization there to choose. I think I need to know a way to add another organization to the choices listed. I did try adding a new organization name by simply typing it in, but when I hit Enter, the name was not entered. Our project is a Daughter Translation of another project, in case that makes a difference.

I had the same problem for a backtranslation that was accidentally registered to another organization. I never found a solution, so I’m waiting to hear.

The final solution was simply that someone with greater privileges than I have made the change for me. I’m thankful for the help!
