Can paratext on a windows guest OS store MyParatextFiles on a virtIO (shared with host) directory?

My wife's laptop had a drive failure, recently, so I'm setting it up from scratch. After a few years' ... that stops windows-mercurial from running on a linux-based filesystem?

A user has Paratext running in a virtual Windows machine on his Mac. He says he cannot select text in Paratext ... problem? He has set VirtualBox to permit sharing the clipboard.
