When you make corrections to \toc headers, the Book Names under Scripture Reference Settings don’t seem to update automatically. Is that by design?

Recent experience with typesetting a New Testament was that the typesetter required separate entry of the \tocN lines in each book, in addition to them being there already in the Scripture Reference Settings. You say that the Scripture Reference Settings are the authoritative source for this information. Why then don’t typesetters take their information direct from the Scripture Reference Settings?

My understanding is that the latest release of Publishing Assistant does in fact get its information from the Scripture Reference Settings. Is it possible an old release PubAssist was used?

Yes, that is by design. Since the Scripture Reference Settings are (now) considered to be the authoritative source of this information it would be inconsistent to change them to match \tocN.

If you want to force Paratext to refetch the \tocN entries you must erase the names from the Scripture Reference Settings manually (yes, that is painful) and then reopen the Scripture Reference Settings dialog.
