I have a user that started using PT7 again for a specific project she is working on, and when she reopened PT8 to go back to her normal Paratext work she is now consistently gets the error in the image at the [Error Report] (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1niQ_lJP2_xXMgcOJf0ByGzwc8sHCZt8d).

She is using Win7 in a VM on a Mac. She is out of country for two weeks so I am currently unable to easily examine her laptop.

It looks like a file is corrupted on the SLDR and Paratext is crashing when attempting to read it.

Can you tell me the language code that the project uses so I can let the SLDR team know of the issue?

Language is LOY.

I don’t follow your description. Could you explain it bit more?

Paratext uses the SLDR (a superset of the CLDR) as an online resource for getting information about languages that Paratext doesn’t know about to keep users from having to enter in all the information about their language. I was assuming that the user’s project had lost it’s language definition file and so Paratext was attempting to get the language information from the SLDR.

However, looking closer at the error message, it looks like the English language file somehow got deleted and Paratext is attempting to go to the SLDR to get it, but it is failing to download the whole thing (it’s big) and is then crashing when trying to read the incomplete data.

The user can probably uninstall and then reinstall Paratext 8.0 to fix the issue.
