We have a language that is sesquisyllabic and would like to have hyphenation turned off. Is that possible? We are having trouble getting Paratext to honor the hyphenation rules for this language. For instance this word ກາດຽລ is set to not have hyphenation, but in Paratext 8 when creating a Print Draft, the word is is hyphenated ກາດ ຽລ * (even with hyphenation unchecked in the print draft menu option). In this language ຽ is a vowel and should not be the beginnings of a hyphenation point.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the word actually hyphenated, or is it just split to the next line (similar to what it’s doing here in your post)?

It’s actually splitting just like it appears in the post. We want Paratext to have that word start on the next line.

That’s what I was afraid of - it looks like your language is fighting the Unicode Line Breaking Algorithm.
