I had updated the French localization (fr.xml) in the LocData program file directory with a newer version that I was given. I was told that this newer version would get into the next (major?) Paratext release. But then I ran the update to .100.12 and noticed that it restored my French localization to the old version. I assume that means that the .msp update files include the localization files? If that’s true can this updated fr.xml file (From Andy Warren or Doug Higby) get put into the next .msp update file? It certainly is a pain to have to remember to copy over the updated interface every time PT does a minor update.

Yes, the updates include the localization files. The updated French localization is in 8.0.100.15 or later, which hasn’t been released to users yet (which is why you don’t have them). We hope to have 8.0.100.16 (which includes a bunch of bug fixes and the updated localizations) available to pre-release users in the next few days (hopefully later today). It will then go to all users when we feel like it’s safe (i.e. no major issues are found by the pre-release users).

EDIT: 8.0.100.17 should be out to pre-release users.
