Some Saved Layouts can be set up to process a single Scripture selection or Module. One very helpful use is to format and add illustrations to single-book pubs without clogging up the main PT project files with many illustrations that will not be used in a finished publication.

Other layouts are great for printing clean, uniformly formatted, interim Scripture portions such as for community testing: These layouts are applied to a different Scripture portion each time they are invoked. It would be great if the Variables (specified in Peripherals) called in the Local Front Matter script were easier to manage for this type of generic print layout.
The Variables entry box only displays 4 lines so I must scroll to see all the variables, and flip back and forth between View/Edit and Peripherals to be sure I have the correct values for this specific print request.

It would help if (1) the Variables entry box were expandable so I could see most of my variables at once; (2) if I could customize the order of the list by dragging, to place the most frequently edited variables at the top (e.g., maintitle) and the static variables below (languagename/code, printedat, etc.
I wonder if somehow a few book-specific variables... or the whole list... could be saved in a sub-database for each book and selected as a block on the Peripherals page? Or a direct link be added from Edit > Front Matter to a variables chooser that includes the variables I have set for the current layout?

I think it might not be possible for the Front Matter script to direct ptxprint to pull in the contents of the initial USFM markers in a PT file, since Front Matter seems to be processed before the PT files. Is this the reason for using \zvar codes, or am I missing something?

Just a suggestion to make life easier for tech advisers to translation projects.

Thanks again for a really amazing program, PTX Print team!

When you make corrections to \toc headers, the Book Names under Scripture Reference Settings don’t seem to update automatically. Is that by design?
