Send / Receive does not seem to work with a VPN active. Can I set Paratext to work with a VPN? (In my case Proton VPN)

I checked the installation instructions for ProtonVPN, and there doesn't seem to be anything that you would have to do for Paratext to work over the VPN connection once it is active.

Paratext does have a VPN connection option on the Paratext settings, but this is a safefy measure that will cause Paratext to check the public IP to make sure that it is not a sensitive location.

The best thing would be for you to send in a problem report using the Help > Give feedback. If the report can't be sent in because of the VPN, email this file C:\Users\{userName}\AppData\Local\Paratext95\ParatextLog.log to support at paratext.org.

I was able to S/R over Proton VPN just fine. You shouldn't have to change any Paratext settings to get it to work.
Are you getting an error when you S/R or is it just not doing anything? Are you using Paratext with Disable Internet use in sensitive locations set?

Thanks for your quick feedback. (A bit of context : We do S / R every day and run PTlive every day as well, just not normally with VPN active)
You are right, S R works fine. I was "put on the wrong leg" by this message image

Which appears when a PTlive session is launched. It appears only once. The 2nd time one tries to launch PTlive, the message does not appear and PTlive is launched without a problem.

Maybe it is a timeout issues ?
imageHaving clicked "Start session" this normally takes a few seconds to launch PTlive, but with VPN active it does not seem able to connect and produces the error message after about 120 seconds. So for me this problem is reproducible.

I was able to start a PTLive session while connected to Proton VPN. It's probably best if you take John's suggestion and send us a problem report (Help > Give feedback) if you get the error again.
