The Paratext Registry (https://registry.paratext.org) is a website with a record of all registered Paratext users, Paratext projects, and organisations which use Paratext.

The Paratext Registry enables organisations to follow the progress of Paratext projects and helps organisations avoid creating duplicate or conflicting projects.

Anyone who wants to use Paratext 8 (including Paratext 7 users) must register on the registry.

You will need a Google account to register as a Paratext user.

All Paratext projects which are registered are able to use the full functionality of Paratext. (The only exception to this is a guest user. See What is a guest user?)

Projects which are not registered will be unable to use the following features:

  • Send/Receive via the Internet
  • Project Interlinearizer
  • Print Draft
  • Save as RTF
  • Export to Pathway
  • Guess Translations
  • Guess Renderings (in the Biblical Terms tool)

When you view another user in the Registry, there is a Registered By field. But for yourself, you can’t see this information. Is that deliberate? You might want to know who you were originally registered by .

And one piece of information that doesn’t seem to be visible for any user is the Supporter Name that each user can choose in the Registration Information in the PT program. It would be nice if that was visible.

The Registered By field is visible for people who where registered by someone else. If you registered yourself then that field won’t be visible. (At least I believe that is what is happening.)

OK, thanks.

IMO, it would be clearer if it simply put your own name next to Registered By.
