I tried to install PT remotely on a laptop (using TeamViewer) but the installation failed, with the following error message:

"There was a problem starting C:\Users\jkark\AppData\Local\TEmp\MSIBF65.tmp. C:\Users\[...]\AppData\Local\TEmp\MSIBF65.tmp is not a valid Win32 application."

Can anyone tell what the problem is, and if and how this can be fixed?

Additional information: this is a Win11 laptop (Win11 Home, build 22621). The laptop was initially in S-mode, so we could not install any software. The user managed to change this.

Edit: I pasted the PT installation log file below this message but deleted it, as Iꞌm not sure it doesnꞌt contain sensitive information. If there is a way to attach this as a separate file, do let me know...

The error code that your original message had indicates that there may be a problem with the .NetFramework on the computer. The page I found that has repair information is: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135

You may also want to reboot the computer to make sure that any updates in progress have been completed.

The failure occurred very quickly after the start of the install and that has been an indication of incomplete updates in the past.

Thank you! Iꞌll see if repairing the .NET framework helps.
A reinstall of .NET framework and Windows updates did the trick. Thank you!
