How to make only \vp marker appear when typesetting

Question

In the book of Mark we have extra verse number in chapter number 16. There’s both this \v 21 \vp 9\vp* marker. When typesetting using PA I want only the verse number with the \vp should appear, not both.

How to achieve this?? Need help.

Just found out there’s PA forum and bring this issue here. Need your help.

This may have been answered long ago, but so that there is an answer here:

One option is to add the following line to changes.txt This will replace the \v 21 \vp 9 \vp* with just \v 9.

"\\v \d+\s+\\vp (\d+)" > "\\v \1"
