Yesterday I worked on Paratext 9 and it was fine. This morning I woke up to find that all my resources on the window layout had OBA after it, although in the Project Resources folder it doesnt. Here’s an example: In the PRF we have HIN_PYG but upon opening it installs as HIN_PYG:OBA in the window layout and says “This book doesn’t exist.”
I uninstalled and reinstalled the BETA version and it was OK. However, when it was updated to the latest version 9.0.103.1 it reverted to the OBA again. I uninstalled and installed 9.0.101 and it it is OK.
This leaves me to conclude that the latest version (9.0.103.1) maybe corrupted. I am being prompted to update to the latest version again but I am hesitant to do so.
Am I the only one experiencing this problem or are there others experiencing the same?
Could someone please explain what is going on.
Thanks

If you have not done it yet, please submit a report from the help menu of Paratext.

I’ve heard from one other with the same problem. Don’t hold back on the update, though, as it might fix the problem.

Thanks for the reply. Do you kow if the other person’s problem got fixed? I would like to know what they did to fix it and if it was related to the update.

Hello _____,

It looks like Paratext is trying to open the text in the book of OBA (Obadiah). Try changing the books to Matthew or one of the other book you have and it might work.

Thank you so much Generic.User. I updated to the latest version once again and the OBA appeared again. You were right that Paratext was trying to open Obadiah which is a book that doesn’t exist in our Project. So according to your suggestion as per our telephone conversation I selected Matthew and it opened to Matthew with all my data intact.
I don’t know why Paratext tries to open Obadiah (OBA) but it is a simple matter of selecting a book being worked on or already worked on from the project and everything will be OK.
Hopefully this will be helpful to others also.
