Paratext 8 or 9 Update Fails severally

Question

Paratext 8 or 9 update notificaation appears when opening Paratext.
I click on the YES to allow it update, then I am prompted to give permission to the updater.
Unfortunately, an error message comes up "Please close running instances of Paratext before running this update. This dialog will close automatically after Paratext has been closed.”
At this point, there is n instance of paraext open, so I am stuck and have to close the error message window.
Paratext continues and opens, but without the update.
This has taken place for months now.
What could be wrong.I now run paratext 9.0.100.54

You can use Task Manager to look for and close any extra running instance of Paratext. Here is a brief video describing the process:

Thanks. I followed the steps and managed to get Paratext updated to 9.0.100.87.

Yesterday I had a different issue with installing the PT9.0.102.1 update. It would download and try to run but then fail. After trying various things (like downloading it directly, and running as Administrator) I did a “Repair” of my PT9.0 installation and then it ran successfully.
