We have a problem with language IDs not matching which prevents the Interlinearizer from working. The KPZ project was registered long ago with the correct language name Kupsapiiny (KPZ). But someone apparently managed to make a change so that the language shown in the Project Properties is now written wrongly as Kupsabiny. I cannot as administrator change the language in the Project Properties, since it has to be done in the Registry. But the registry has the correct name, so how can we get those two to match? Is there another place for Metadata in the registry? Someone recently changed the Metadata, but I do not know which changes were made or how I can look at those changes.

Iver+Larsen,

What should matter is the abbreviation for the language in Paratext matching the abbreviation for the language in FLEx. Sometimes a language is identified with additional codes. For instance you could have something like: en-015-basiceng (which translates to English - North Africa region - basic English variant). Normally you don’t need the additional information, but if you do then this should match in both Paratext and FLEx. If FLEx had just en then it would not match the en-015-basiceng.

We are not using Flex with Paratext.
In the Project Properties, no associated project is selected.

In the Project Properties, the language is listed as Kupsabiny (kpz-Latn).

In the registry, the language is listed as Kupsapiiny with identifier kpz-Latn.

So the names are different but the abbreviation seems to be the same. I do not know why the name in the registry is different from the name in Paratext.

Okay - how is the interlinearizer not working? What message do you see?

The error message is: The model text language ID is not valid for the associated lexical project. Interlinearizser then refuses to open.

In the registry there is an advanced option which had added Latn for one of the projects. I tried to uncheck this option so the Latn disappeared and I am left with the abbreviation kpz.

We do interlinear adaptation from project Spykup to the related language KPZ. When I open Project Properties for Spykup, the language is listed as Kupsabiny (kpz). In the registry it is listed as Kupsapiiny (kpz)
When I open Project Properties for the new (model) language, it starts out with Kupsabiny (kpz-Latn) but immediately switches to Kupsabiny (kpz). The registry has Kupsapiiny (kpz)

Follow-up. After unchecking the advanced option in the registry, doing a S/R and restarting Paratext 8, interlinearizer is now working again. It no longer does the switch between the language with Latn and without.
Thanks.
