Hello there, we have a 4 member team using paratext life via a local router with cat cables in one room. Two laptops have Chorus installed for send receive. However, when I travel with my laptop the team continues work using the 2nd Chorus software for send receive (just like we want to) BUT when I return, my own Chorus (the 1st) does not show, except when the laptop with the 2nd Chorus is switched off. This can happen and if you don`t pay attention different people use a different Chorus hub resulting in updates not being incorporated on some machines. This causes confusion.
Question : Is it possible to switch off Chorus hub temporarily on one laptop ? Do you see another solution in our situation ?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

If I recall, Chorus Hub installs as a Windows Service. I think you can look in the Services list in Control Panel or Task Manager to turn it off.

I don’t see another solution since Chorus Hub is designed to be run with one instance per network.

FWIW, you could S/R to a USB drive while traveling. Using a USB drive would give you the piece-of-mind that the data is backed up in another location (not just on your computer).
Or you could just use Mark Point in Project History under the Project menu instead of doing a S/R if you aren’t actually going to be doing a S/R with anyone else.

Thanks for the Quick reply. We will try the Services solution. Merci encore.

Yes, you can only have one instance of Chorus hub in the same location. It was a simple solution for simple settings, and it has next to no user controls. Killing the one instance is about the only way to switch between different Chorus hubs.
