Hi
i am using paratext 8.0.100.75. I get notification that new update is available and it is downloaded in C:\Users\binoy\AppData\Local\Paratext80\ParatextUpdate.When i close and open paratext it says do you want to update? when i say yes it some times says paratext is already open, you need to close it.
I double clicked patch_8.0.100.83.msp from the ParatextUpdate folder and it shows updating and finshes updates. But when i open paratext it is version 8.0.100.75,
in .75 i get error that some of the projects are not opening.

i downloaded the latest patch from paratext website. but this also doesn’t work.
please help.
(I have patch_8.0.100.77.msp also in ParatextUpdate folder. but it neither updates. I tried running it as administrator and also opened cmd as administrator and pointed the path and ran but it doesn’t work.)

I would try uninstalling PT8. Installing PT8 and then updating to 83.

uninstalling and reinstalling solved the issue

I had the same problem several weeks ago, first updating PT8 to …100.75, and also to the next update. I suspected that the error was because I had been using PT7 sometimes along with PT8, even though I always closed PT7 before trying to update 8, but it still said to the close the program when none was running. - - - I was advised to restart the computer and then open the Users… …\ParatexUpdate folder, and double-click the already downloaded *.msp file which is the update. That worked fine, although it looks like it is installing PT for the first time instead of the screens one sees when PT updates on its own as part of restarting the program. But the the final result was just the same as the normal “update on restart”. Reinstalling PT8 might clear the faulty setting (for a while), so I don’t have to use this method, but I’m happy there is a solution that works without having to reinstall PT.
