Is it possible to create a Bible Module in one of the resource languages? Say using the ESV text? We can’t edit the ESV project, so it’s not possible to add XXA to that particular project.

Is it possible to reference the project from within another, user-created, project. The HBKENG Handbook resource does a similar thing by using \src and prj to reference other projects. Is something similar possible in modules, using \ref and prj to reference other projects?

The reasoning behind this request is that it is much easier for a native English speaker to build and check his module using English resources, then transfer it into the minority language and fine tune it afterward.

If you want an editable English version, you could download the World English Bible. It is a public domain version that can be freely copied. You can put it into Paratext by downloading the USFM source file from this page: http://ebible.org/web/. This page is where it says it is public domain and can be freely copied. http://worldenglishbible.org/

The download is a zip file, but it is not a Paratext backup zip file. To get the files into a Paratext project, extract all the files to a folder. Create a new Paratext project, then go to Import Books, and select all the USFM files that you extracted from the zip.

Since your new project is editable, you can test out Bible modules as you wish. You can make a backup of your Paratext project and share the file with other colleagues.

Thank you. I think using WEB will solve the issue.

2017 update: Finding the USFM download on the World English Bible webpage is not so easy. You should see it directly on this link:

No, this is not possible. Even if we allowed getting text from another project, we would probably prevent getting text from resources when creating Bible modules due to copyright concerns.

EDIT: sewhite beat me and had a better answer. :yum:
