Is there any special significance to the colors chosen for the note icons?

The colour and image used for different note icons is not significant, they simply aid identification of note categories chosen by a team. However, wherever you see a coloured note icon, this indicates the note is assigned either to you, or to the whole project team. A grey icon indicates that the note is not assigned to you.
