There have been a number of requests to restore the ability to make changes to resource files. Some things we might be done fairly simply from a programming perspective. For instance, it might be easy to allow specifying a custom stylesheet for a resource. However, this might not be very straightforward from a user point of view … they have to create a file with a weird name in a strange location.

Somethings on the other hand are quite hard. Restoring the ability to edit Biblical Terms is fairly difficult especially if you want to be able to s/r the result and share it with other people.

To move forward we need a specific request with regard to exactly what things you want to be able to do with a resource text and some idea of how many weeks of work you think we would be justified in spending to produce that.

Dear All,

Only two people have responded to the survey by completing the form. This either says that there really isn’t much interest in changing the access to resource settings in PT8 - or folks didn’t really understand the issue.

In PT7 it was possible to make various changes to resources by using customization. That is currently NOT available with PT8 and the question is - what kinds of customization are needed. It is hard to submit this as a need if there is no response from the field.

You can register your interest by completing the survey at:

I am new here and I just did it:

The survey itself is no problem.

But the captchas afterwards are really really bad. Somebody must have clicked “maximum security settings”. On our slow internet it is a pain (and I hate them anyway) - and then there was a timeout or something and I even had to fill the entire survey a second time (I know our bad internet so I always keep a copy before I send online forms) and then the captcha went zombie and made me fill out dozens of sheets (because if I come twice, I must be a robot, right).

I still thank you for taking the trouble to create surveys. I hope I have just spoken for 1/3 of all PT users and supporters…

just been rather busy. And I’m still using PT7 for any resources that are annoying for reasons like this.

Tim, thanks for filling out the survey. I’m not sure what you mean by the captchas. When I filled out the survey from another computer I did not see anything after I clicked on submit. Maybe it has to do with operating system or with your browser. Sorry it was difficult, but I don’t see any setting that was put on the survey itself.

If you did not insist on it, as the creator of the survey, then Google put it at the end of the survey - for me. I noticed that the survey has its URL on docs.google.com. And I guess I am being punished for working in a suspicious part of the world. I often need to prove that I am not a robot, which is sad-funny because our internet is so slow that this region is not really suited to plage the world with survey-spam or whatever Google is afraid of.

So I thank you for clarifying this detail - and for not having insisted on the Captchas from your end.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
