Unable to open HBKENG resource

Question

Downloaded resources but HBKENG couldn’t open. The following message comes up whenever I open Paratext : HBKENG could not be opened - dbl\names cannot be loaded from resource because it uses the wrong password.
Could someone please explain and help me resolve this issue.

Usually this error is caused by a corrupted download (e.g. it didn’t finish downloading because of a bad internet connection). The version of the HBKENG resource I have (which might be slightly out-of-date) is 70,065 KB. If yours significantly differs in size, I’d say that this is, indeed, the cause of your problem. Either way, I would try downloading it again.

We have on our to-do list to verify resource downloads after downloading to keep this kind of error to a minimum. Hopefully that will be done in the next month or so.

Thanks for your reply. The size is about the same and I did try downloading twice. I will try again and let you know.

I have tried many times since then but I am still getting the same message. The file size is about 70028.
Don’t know what to do?

I have had this on some systems as well.

On one system the fix worked, but not the others.

Are you able to get the resource file from someone who has successfully gotten it? It’s located in the C:\My Paratext 8 Projects\_Resources folder.

I don’t know of anyone nearby me to physically get the resource from them.
