Is registration “backwards compatible”?

Question

If I register a new user for PT8, will their registration code work if they want to use PT7 for projects that are still only available there? Or will they be issued with a separate PT7 registration code? Automatically, or only on request?

Answer 1

If a new user is registered for PT8 they do NOT automatically receive a
registration for PT7. You would need to request a registration for PT7 by
going to paratext.org/about and filling in the registration information.
This new PT7 user would then need to be added to any PT7 projects.

Beware that the new PT7 user must have the exact same name as in PT8. If they do not, then Paratext will not recognize them as the same user when the PT7 projects they are added to get migrated to PT8.
