It seems fairly common to have quoted text in a book introduction. For example in many introductions to the Gospel of Mark, verse 1:1 is often quoted in the introduction because it gives the author’s purpose for writing the book. If this quote of verse 1:1 is marked with \qt…\qt* will Paratext’s quoted text check verify it? I know how to do this for footnotes, but I don’t know how to make the link to the origin verse in book introductions.

No, there is no linkage - PT just formats it as quoted material (possibly
italic, but that is just format)

Where do you define quote marker characters as valid'? I have curly quote' markers selected in Checking > Quotation ... I've probably missed it somewhere. Thanks for any help!

In our project's book introductions, we point the reader to certain passages using Scripture references. Since all the ... as an error for each book of the New Testament.
