A user sent me this, and I’m at a loss as to how to address it:

We have just migrated the SCK team into paratext 8,
which all went well, except the information for the interlinear
didn't come through into paratext 8. They had done quite a
bit of work on it in paratext 7 and I'm wondering:
   1. What I did wrong?
   2. If there's any way to get that information into paratext 8
      without re-migrating?
This is also relevant because I'll be migrating the RWB
project sometime soon and I certainly don't want to lose the
interlinear data for them.

Thanks for any insight you can offer!

There can be several causes, but the one that I encountered was that the Language encoding of my model text was changed and then the interlinearizer could not find my database of glosses. I was using NVI-P (Portuguese). I tried all the Portuguese resources available in PT8 until I hit on one that used the language encoding the that the NVI-P had in Paratext 7. If you can find a similar resource that works in your case, then that would be the easiest way to get your glosses to “reappear”. Otherwise, it is a bigger challenge to get the PT8 interlinearizer to find them.

The main problems I’ve seen related to migrated interlinear data is a
mismatch between the language code used for migrated the interlinear text
and the language code of the model project that is being used in Paratext 8.

You can see the migrated interlinear data by looking in the project folder
of the text being interlinearized. There will be folders with the names
like Interlinear_en (or whatever language code the model text was using).

If these migrated language code and the model text language code don’t
match, it will look like none of the interlinear data is there, but it
actually is if we can get the codes to match.

We switched from using language names to language codes to because the
codes are a standard, but the names aren’t and changes to the language name
of a model project caused this a similar problem with missing interlinear
data in Paratext 7.

If you have trouble spotting what the issue is, send me a note directly and
we can arrange a support session.

Hi, I am not a project administrator, and only work on the project once a week and haven’t had training in paratext - so muddle my way through as best I can. I’d been using the interlinear function to translate our project back to NT Greek for checking purposes. When we migrated to v8 of paratext, the glosses didn’t come across. I’ve read your blurb on looking in the project folder - but because I’m not an administrator, paratext goes into a loop of saying I don’t have permission repeatedly (I look in Project/Project properties and settings), and I have to close the program and reopen. Am I looking in the wrong spot for the project folder with the interlinear language? Also, there is a problem when I open the interlinear part of the project where word order has been reversed (our project is a R2L language, unlike NT Greek L2R). Will sorting the interlinear language code also fix this problem? Grateful for your advice!

Update, I wrote up the procedure I followed to fix anon084127’s bad data in another post
