how to print syriac in ptxprint

Hi there. Any pointers are welcome. I can't seem to manage to print syriac text from ptxprint.

The text shows fine in paratext, but ptxprint outputs just square boxes. Changing font on the text doesn't accomplish anything. First I assigned it under \wa and then made a custom \ws for it, no sugar. I even installed the Idiqlat-2.100 font and changed the style settings to it. No change. The text in question is simple: ܫܠܡ ܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܕܝܘܚܢܢ

I remember having problems when I was first testing Idiqlat in ptxPrint. I had to change a lot of different settings. One was the font, but the other was the "Writing System" setting it to Right-to-Left and to Syriac. I don't remember what else, but it's working for me.

Indeed, lot of fiddling.

I had the text in a footnote, so I had to go ptxprint settings, under styles -> peripheral refs -> w -> wa -> and under there set:
other settings ->
 note settings ->
  note caller style ->
   and set that to: \wa

Make sure you have the latest version of PTXPrint. In my test I marked your Syriac text with \wa ...\wa*. Then in PTXPrint I set the style of \wa to a different font and it showed up in PTXPrint.

I had version 3.0.33, updated to 3.0.38 and still getting only squares.

Try using a different font for the \wa style in PTXPrint. I used a font called code2000 which is a "Universal" font, but you would probably want to apply a different Syriac font.
