There used to be a check for weights, numbers, and measures in an older version of Paratext that has disappeared. Can anyone find the original file from Paratext 6 (or 7) and get it to me so that we can recreate this check in the current Paratext?

Are you talking about what is now the Biblical Terms list called Numbers? Or was there an actual check of some sort (maybe a Python check)?

I looked in the Paratext history, and that file was created by reading the old PT6 DB file.

The old Paratext 6 DB checks were made into Biblical Term lists. These are the lists: InclusiveExclusiveWe, Numbers, YoungerOlderSibling. I think this means you can access the check by selecting the Numbers list in the Biblical Terms tool.

If you still need/want the file, its the /Terms/Lists/Numbers.xml file in the Paratext installation directory.

That list has numbers in the text like "fourteen" in Mat 1:17, but it does not seem to have any weights, measures or money. Section 24.8 in the manual mentions "Numbers, money, weights and measures", implying there was a Biblical terms list for money, weights and measures, not just for numbers.

You're right. It looks like the file was edited later to "improve" them and it seems like a lot of the original data was lost. I don't remember why that was done. Here is the original file, which should be more of a direct conversion of the original PT6 data:

EDIT: For anyone with access to Paratext's internal tracking system, this issue from 2012 is the one that changed the data.

That looks good. Although the weights and measures don't appear very informative in the Biblical Terms interface until you open one up.

FYI Paratext will only open one of the two forms, the one called "numbers.xml".
If I renamed the longer one "numbersweights.xml" it won't see it. To open as I did above I had to name it "numbers.xml" replacing the current default numbers list.

It should also work to name it NumbersWeightsBiblicalTerms.xml (or anything that ends in "BiblicalTerms.xml") and put it in the My Paratext 9 Projects directory.

Thanks, that works.
