Thanks. That worked.

The other part of my question is about the border. I don't remember how I got this particular border when I set it up last year. And I don't know how to control its behavior. Note that I don't even have Page Border selected in Tabs+Borders. When I select it there, it puts a different sort of border on the page, along with the current border. The problem with this border is that it ends at irregular places at the bottom of the page, and sometimes prints over the bottom of the last line of text. Any idea how I can control this border? I would like it to end at the same place near the bottom of every page, regardless of where the last line of the page prints. Barring that, I could turn it off, if I knew how, and use the A5 page border.pdf that appears when I select Page Border.

Do you have ptxprint-mods.sty enabled (Advanced/Apply Stylesheet Overrides) which is the old way, or do you have Text Border enabled in Tabs+Borders. If the latter then click to edit the settings and then adjust the paddings to fit your text. Come back if you are still stuck.

Still stuck. I don't have ptxprint-mods.sty enabled. I also don't have Page Border enabled in Tabs+Borders. That is why I am confused. I don't know why the border is appearing. I can't remember what I did to get this border last year. :-/

I like the border, but it prints over the bottom of the text of the last line on some pages, and I can't control it. I made a new configuration from scratch, which did not have the above border. When I invoke the Page Border setting, I get a border, but I am not given the option of adjusting the border padding, whether or not I check Full page. I know I have been able to adjust border padding in the past.

Thanks for any help!

From the screenshot that I see, you must be using a rather ancient version of PTXprint, as the available settings on the Tabs+Borders page changed significantly quite a while ago:

You will notice that in the newer interface, you can select different kinds of borders - either at (dynamic) text border, or a PDF border (Legacy) which is static and doesn't change size according to the amount of text on the page.

It might also be worth looking in your Advanced settings' ptxprint-mods.tex file to see if you somehow enabled it there (again, a LONG time ago before the user interface was even built for this feature).

I recommend downloading and using 2.8.22 which is available from here: software.sil.org/ptxprint/download/

You give tantalising details about how you added the border the second time round. I'm going to guess you added it as a page border graphic. In that case I would simply increase the bottom margin of the page to get the text clear of the border. If it is a dynamic text border, not based on an external graphic file containing the border, then you will need to follow my previous response.

If you are still stuck, please send an archive.
