In a lectionary bible module, we have headings with scripture references. For example:

\s1 $(JER 33:14-18)

The project scripture reference setting for parallel passages is set to "Short name", so the output should be "Jeremia 33.14-18, but it's coming out as the abbreviated form "Jer. 33.14-18".

I've tried \ms# and \s# headings, the output is the same.

I'm using version 2.7.29.

You can try selecting the XX book as the single book you are typesetting rather than selecting Bible Module.

Thank you, that fixes the book name :)

The verse numbers then disappeared, although I have specified \inc v.

However this seems to be a PT problem, linked to other \inc specifications, I'll post a separate question for PT.
Make sure that you have Verse numbers checked on the Body text.
Yes, Verse Numbers is checked. The only difference was adding \inc f or \inc x to the module. But PT's Preview Output was affected too, I posted another question to that category.

In a module currently, if the length is not specified in a reference e.g. `$(s:JER 33:14-18)` ptxprint will indeed default it to `a` as in abbreviation. Now that we know that Paratext uses a setting for this we have changed the code to follow Paratext in its BookSourceForMarkerR (not XT), that is the parallel passage references setting. If it can't work that out it falls back to `a` again.

This will appear in the next release (2.8.1 or later).
