I am helping a consultant to update a project. The last time he was able to send and receive was in November 2022. The project is listed as NEW in a purple square in the send receive list since I deleted him from the users and then added him again. On clicking on the send-receive the green bar displays for just a ½ second and then disappears and nothing happens ....

Things I tried:

- deleting and re adding him as user to the project

- deleting the complete project from this laptop (Since the deletion of a user from a project leaves a local copy of the project behind)

- resetting paratext by holding shift on start

What other steps can I try? (He is using version 9.4.101.11 just like I am)

Thanks in advance for your help,

Goodgoan.

This can be difficult to resolve and someone may have a better answer, but here are some things to try:

  • Make sure that the new project is the only project selected (this avoids some other project being the issue)
  • Add a note or some other change to the text and S/R to the new user before having them try to receive the text.
  • Go to the main Paratext project folder and verify that there is no folder with the same name. Also check under the _Resources folder that there is not a resource with the same name.
  • Try changing the "Release Stage" to "Pre-Release" for purposes of the S/R. To do this you hold shift while clicking on the main menu > Support and Development > Release Stage > Pre-Release. You must restart Paratext. Try the S/R again.

Thank you for these tips Phil. Before I got to try your advice I was pointed to files in the temporary folder under c:\My Paratext 8 Projects and under c:\My Paratext 9 Projects\Temp Files. Deleting the files in these directories paved the way and (send-)receive was able to get the new project in its entirety. Thanks for you help.
