(tenga en cuenta que estoy usando un diseño de página A5, y el borde es el de “- sin borde”, que se extiende más hacia abajo en la página, permitiendo que las notas al pie queden dentro del borde.
Sí, agregar un borde no se considera “normal” para los usuarios del modo básico. Por lo tanto, deberá usar el botón 
para acceder a los ajustes avanzados de Diseño (Layout), que le permitirán reducir los márgenes.
Así que, antes de ajustar los ajustes de diseño, el texto se estaba incrustando en los bordes (en los lados y en la parte inferior de la página), como se puede ver aquí:
Mis ajustes de márgenes eran originalmente así (para la imagen anterior):
Pero después de hacer algunos ajustes en la pestaña Diseño (Layout) a los ajustes resaltados en amarillo aquí abajo…
…todo se ve bien:
Confío en que pueda hacer los ajustes necesarios; y siempre puede volver al modo básico (haciendo clic en Show less) para ocultar todos los detalles que se acaban de configurar.

(note that I am using an A5 page layout, and the border is the one with “- no border”, which extends further down the page, allowing the footnotes to come within the border.
Yes, adding a border isn’t considered “normal” for basic mode users. So, you will need to use the button to access the advanced Layout settings which will allow you to pull the margins in.
So, before adjusting the layout settings, the text was running into the borders (on the sides and at the bottom of the page) as can be seen here:
My margin settings were originally like this (for the image above):
But after making some adjustments on the Layout tab to the settings highlighted here below in yellow…
…everything then looks great:
I trust you are able to make the right adjustments as needed; and you can always go back to basic mode (by clicking Show less) to hide all the details that were just set.
