One of our users has an intermittent problem with the figure links in HBKENG, Ezekiel 40-48.

When I click on hyperlinks in the UBS Handbook for Ezekiel for figures, at least those related to the vision of the Temple in chapters 40ff, a notice pops up to say “Figure image not found”. (One exception was Figure 11, a detailed illustration of the east gatehouse.) Maps work okay.

Here’s what he’s tried:

  • I tried opening HBKENG as a separate project.
  • I also installed the HBKENG update, more than once.
  • I tried closing all other windows except HBKENG.
  • I restarted Windows, Parallels, and Paratext, more than once.
  • I installed the Images file for enhanced resources.

Thanks,

This looks like a bug. I’m seeing the same thing on my machine.

I’ll report it. Keep your eye out for an update on the HBKENG resource from the Paratext menu, which is how I believe they will send a fix.

@jwickberg FYI, this is reported as RES-1509.

Hi james_post,

Thanks for the reply.

After I posted my question, I found this on the PTX Supporter Site.

Our user tried it, and it seemed to work. Hopefully, they won’t disappear again.

Iver, there is an issue with images over a certain size in the Handbook. You may be able to see these with the following procedure:

>

> Go to the introduction to Genesis in the Handbook. Find section 1A-1. How God Created All Things.

>

> In the third paragraph, there is a link to a table. Click “See table”. My Paratext displayed a message “extracting images” and a minute or so later, the table will appear. Now try the images in Ezk 42 and see if they now appear.

> This is a mysterious method, and suggestions to make it simpler have been sent to the developers. (Developers, see RES-0134 and PTXS-23484).

Thanks. That worked for me, too.
