Um dos nossos tradutores passou várias semanas trabalhando na preparação de um interlinear como auxílio para uma oficina com consultores de tradução no final deste ano. Ele terminou o que precisava fazer com a ferramenta interlinearizador no Paratext 8, mas seu trabalho ainda não estava aparecendo para os consultores. Eventualmente, percebi um problema: ele havia feito o Send/Receive no projeto errado. Mas, depois que isso foi corrigido e fizemos o Send/Receive corretamente, em vez de enviar seu trabalho para nós, enviou o trabalho do administrador do projeto para ele — mas, como a versão do interlinear do administrador estava incompleta, isso efetivamente apagou cerca de 30 capítulos de trabalho no interlinear. Talvez o Paratext tenha considerado que a versão do administrador era mais recente e, portanto, a correta? Não tenho certeza da razão. Mas, na verdade, queríamos a versão do tradutor, não a do administrador. Não consegui encontrar uma maneira de “restaurar o texto” e ele não sinalizou nenhum conflito ou algo parecido, então o trabalho basicamente terá que ser refeito.
Como podemos evitar esse problema no futuro? O Paratext continuará adotando a versão do interlinearizador que ele considera a mais recente, mesmo que seja menos completa, apagando assim partes do trabalho já realizado? Ou existe alguma maneira de impedir isso?
One of our translators spend several weeks working on preparing an interlinear as an aid for a workshop with translation consultants later this year. He finished what he needed to do with the interlinearizer tool in Paratext 8, but his work was still not showing up for the consultants. I eventually realized one problem - he’d been doing send/receive on the wrong project. But once this was corrected, and we did send/receive correctly, instead of sending his work to us, it sent the project administrator’s work to him - but since the project admin’s version of the interlinear was incomplete, it effectively erased about 30 chapters of interlinear work. Maybe Paratext thought that the admin’s version was newer and therefore the right one? I’m not sure of the reason. But we actually wanted the translator’s version, not the admin’s version. I couldn’t find a way to ‘restore the text’ and it didn’t flag any conflicts or anything, so the work will basically have to be re-done.
How can we avoid this problem in future? Will Paratext continue to take whichever version of the interlinearizer it thinks is newest, even if it’s less complete, thus erasing portions of the work that has been done? Or is there some way to prevent this?
